- A point-of-use system is a system that you install where you are going to use it -- like the kitchen for instant hot water for soups and beverages, etc. It doesn't replace the regular water heater and the faucet won't replace your normal faucet. Most tanks will heat the water up to 200 degrees and it provides up to 60 cups of hot water per hour.
- You could drill a new hole in the sink to install the instant hot water dispenser or, if you don't use the sprayer, you could remove and place the faucet for the dispenser there.
- Straighten the copper tubing connections on the faucet. Slide a tube bending spring over the tubing (figure A) to straighten it without causing any kinking or damage.
- Slide on the rubber O-ring which will seal the faucet in place (figure B). A retaining clip will secure the faucet to the sink (figure C).
- The heating tank mounts on a bracket provided with the unit. You will make three press-on connections -- the cold filtered water with the blue tube, the tank bent pipe with the clear tube and the hot water outlet (figure D).
- Connect the filter and then connect the main water supply. Be sure to fill the tank with water before plugging it in.
Expert Note: Not only does the filter provide purified water for drinking, it prevents build up of sediment and harmful minerals in the heater unit.
Tip: Not only is the hot water dispenser good for food preparation, you can install a small unit in out buildings, shops or garages anytime you need smaller amounts of hot water at a single point of use.
In the next segment host Paul Ryan will share tips on how the right showerhead can save water.
